I must apologise, I was enjoying the chat and then had to leave it suddenly just when we were talking about the learning and engagement of the "expert" assessor in peer support/assessment.

For those who missed the conversation I will try to summarise what I captured here.

Suzshaff said that she felt that peer support was most valuable when the peers were experts, and could be learnt from.
I said the opposite - the value in explaining and exposing "holes".
The question was then askign about how to keep experts motivated...

My opinion:
Myself and 1 or 2 others were often the "expert" giving explanation, and, even as students, we recognised how much we had to learn and clarify our thoughts in order to do this. If we then had to explain this in a more formal format, (as with Simon's structure), the benefits of this experience would have been even more explicit to us, and to others who didn't see it immediately - explaining (rather than answering the question) can be hard!

I think Barabara said she had data on this - it would be good to see this.
