Team Teaching was mention in the closing chat: I am trying to encourage this in my own department - has anyone done so and got any hints/tips/pitfalls/successes to share?

We have tried it a couple of ways here. Many of our FYE programs consist of two or three linked courses. Teacher teaming ranges from one or two meetings where there is some discussion about how each person's course addresses the shared theme to a three course program where all three teachers attended all the classes. Needless to say, the latter was very rich, but far too time consuming to be practical. Successful collaborations seem to build understanding of the connections between the two disciplines and require faculty to be somewhat flexible in their thinking about their content.

I would start small, for sure. And I would suggest trying to link two courses thematically--one successful combination we had was a history course paired with a photography course.
