I would like to conclude by saying that in REAP we have found that defining principles helps in the design and evaluation of assessment practices. We do not think that these10 principles are necessarily complete. In particular they do not deal with the measurement aspect of assessment for accreditation. You might like to listen to David Boud who discusses this in his keynote. However, these principles do fit in with the main goal we had for assessment which was to develop learner self-regulation and prepare students for learning throughout life. We are very interested to hear what you think about assessment principles and the wider theory practice relationship.
